Established Brain Partners Equine Vets Ltd in 2009 with Victoria.
Ben has always had a keen interest in Upper Respiratory Tract surgery having watched his father, Jeffrey Brain, performing Hobday procedures.

Louise Hinckley
Clinical Manager
Louise has worked for Brain Partners since March 2012. Lou manages all aspects of the yard and surgery, she is essential in keeping the place running smoothly. She also rides the work horses upsides during overground scopes.
In her spare time she competes her horse Netty.
Katie Walpole
Practice Manager
Katie has worked for Brain Partners since 2008, and has been practice manager since 2010. Katie is also our PA / Nanny. She is the go to person for account queries and appointments.
Katie competes her ex racehorse Hall Kelly in her spare time.
Emma Alvis
Yard Manager
Emma joined us in August 2019 to cover short term initially, but has ended up staying on full time.
She trains point to pointers in her spare time.
Hannah Haywood
Yard Assistant
Hannah joined us in November 2023 to cover maternity leave. She was formerly a travelling head girl for a busy race yard so brings great organisational skills to the team.
Hannah enjoys walking her dog Thor and holidays with her husband.
Andrew Campbell
Groundsman / Handyman
Andrew has been a vital part of the Brain team since 2023 having worked in racing for years. He’s fantastic handling the horses, keeping us up to speed with racing news and is responsible for gallop maintenance.
A keen cyclist he can be found on the Cotswold hills at dawn most days.
James Davies
Work Rider
James rides our own team of horses who work upsides client horses to keep them company and enthusiastic in their work on the gallop.
James is a retired jump jockey.
Laura Werner
Work Rider
Laura joined the team in December 2022. Laura has a wealth of experience riding different horses, she has previously spent time working in America as a race jockey.
Laura likes rock climbing and adrenaline sports at the weekends.
